PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a new human ABH family molecule and provide the molecule for applying it to e.g. curing, diagnosing diseases including cancers, neuropathy and developmental disorders.
SOLUTION: The new human ABH family molecule is provided as follows: (a) a polynucleotide comprising a specific nucleotide sequence, (b) a polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a human ABH8 protein comprising a specific amino acid sequence, (c) a polynucleotide which is hybridizable with a polynucleotide comprising a polynucleotide sequence complementary to the polynucleotide in (a) or (b) under stringent hybridization conditions and comprises a nucleotide sequence encoding an ABH8 protein, or (d) a polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding an ABH8 protein comprising an amino acid sequence wherein at least one amino acid residue is deleted, substituted, inserted or added in the amino acid sequence (b).
