A braided goggle strap for use with a pair of swimming goggles includes a plurality of bands that are braided together to form a generally flat, braided goggle strap. Each of the plurality of bands includes an elastic material that is protected by a resilient fabric material to provide superior mechanical properties that results in even stress distribution and minimal sinusoidal stress when worn by a user. The composite reinforcement of the braided goggle strap also provides added comfort. The braided goggle strap includes a biased fastener for adjustably attaching the braided strap onto a users head, is easily attachable to a pair of swimming goggles by simply threading the braided strap through the small apertures provided on the swimming goggles, and comes in a variety of different colors.
