Disclosed is a feeder (101) in particular for feeding poultry. The feeder comprises a polygonal feeding pan (102) defined by a base and a plurality of side walls depending from the base. The side walls define an outer peripheral edge of the feeder having a plurality of substantially straight outer edges. The base is substantially pyramidal with a plurality of inclined edges radially aligned with the vertices of the outer peripheral edge. An apex at or adjacent the centre of the feeder directs feed towards the side walls. A supply tube (106) disposed centrally with respect to the feeding pan receives feed from a feed delivery system (107) at a first end and supplies feed to the feeding pan from a second end. A support means (104) slidably engaging the supply tube to the polygonal feeding pan. The feeder provides increased feeding space and feed volume with respect to a circular feeder having a radius equal to the apothem of the polygonal feeding pan.
