Through the present invention, a word uttered by an operator unconsciously or during a conversation with another person is not recognized as a control command. The usage state of an ultrasonic probe (4) is assessed, and an operator is recognized and the distance (L) between the operator and a monitor (3) is calculated on the basis of image data obtained by imaging of a scanning space by a camera (61).
