PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect deterrent for apparel, which improves insect deterrent effect against apparel pests in the beginning of use of a normal temperature-volatile pyrethroid-based insecticidal ingredient, then is effectual in synergistically high insect deterrent effect, is excellent in safeness to man and beast, has no odor, and is easily used.SOLUTION: The insect deterrent for apparel includes, as effective components, (a) p-menthane-3,8-diol and (b) an ordinary-temperature volatile pyrethroid-based insecticidal ingredient. Preferably, the ratio of (a):(b) is in a range of 0.05:1 to 0.3:1.
