A dual-bearing reel spool-braking device (23) configured to brake a spool (12) rotatably attached to a reel body (1) having first and second side plates (5a and 5b) has a tubular brake member (65), a moving member (68), and a cover member (90). The tubular brake member (65) is attached to the first or second side plate (5a and 5b), and has a base and an opening (68b). The brake member (65) is disposed such that the opening (68b) is opposed to the spool (12). The moving member (68) is axially non-movably attached to a rotation shaft (16) of the spool (12), and contacts an inner peripheral surface of the brake member (65) when the moving member (68) is moved towards the brake member (65) by centrifugal force generated by rotation of the spool (12). The cover member (90) is attached to the first or second side plate (5a and 5b) to cover the opening (68b) of the brake member (65).
