PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide forceps having a multi-joint structure which can be actuated without backlash by springs arranged in a pair of jaw members respectively and by a spring arranged across a tip outer cylinder and a base end outer cylinder, and which is used in medical equipment, is small-sized, has an excellent handling property, is rich in followability, and can be actuated highly accurately.SOLUTION: Forceps having a multi-joint structure include: a tip outer cylinder 1 and a base end outer cylinder 2 connected so as to be bent and a grip member 7 including a pair of jaw members 8 connected at a tip 14 of the tip outer cylinder 1. The jaw members 8 are actuated so as to be opened/closed by a pair of jaw power transmission shafts 9. The jaw members 8 are energized in a closing direction by springs 11 at all times. The tip outer cylinder 1 and the base end outer cylinder 2 are actuated so as to be bent by an outer cylinder power transmission shaft 10.
