Disclosed herein are compositions comprising at least one heat shock protein or a functional fragment thereof, wherein a therapeutically effective amount of the at least one heat shock protein or the functional fragment thereof induces immunotolerance to a therapeutic agent when the therapeutically effective amount of the composition is administered to a subject. Also, provided herein are methods of inducing immunotolerance in a subject.
