A method of processing used absorbent hygiene products, comprising the steps of: - providing a rotating cylindrical autoclave having an inner surface (22) and two ends of at least one of which ends with a shutter (18, 20), which can be opened by providing the possibility of access to the specified autoclave (14), and hermetically closed, providing the possibility of creating pressure in the specified autoclave (14)； - load the said autoclave (14) with closed absorbent hygiene products； - heat to a temperature sterilization and create pressure in the said autoclave (14), and at the same time bring the autoclave (14) into rotation around its longitudinal axis (a)； and - provide within said autoclave (14) a load of high-density tearing elements configured to facilitate thermal and physical degradation of said absorbent hygiene products. 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein said tearing elements are made of heat-conducting material. The method of claim 2, wherein said tearing elements are made of a metal material. The method according to claim 1, wherein the load of tearing elements has a mass that is 0.25-5 times higher than the dry mass of the load of absorbent hygiene products. The method according to claim 1, wherein the load of tearing elements has a mass that is 0.5-1.5 times higher than the dry weight of the load of absorbent hygiene products.1.
