PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optometer capable of easily confirming the abutting state of a subject, performing a highly accurate examination and easily confirming the state of an optometer power source even when an examiner is not near the optometer.
SOLUTION: The optometer has an optometer main body having a pair of left and right lens chamber units provided with an examination window and a controller for driving the optometer main body, and subjectively examines an eye to be examined by switching and arranging an optical element to the examination window by the operation. The optometer is provided with a forehead pad provided on the optometer main body for fixing the position of the face of the subject, a detection means for detecting whether or not the face of the subject is abutted to the forehead pad, a light emitting means for reporting the detected result to the examiner, and a light emission control part for controlling the light emission. The light emission control part performs the control of making the light emitting means emit light at all times or flicker while the face of the subject is not abutted on the forehead pad and putting out the light emitting means when it is abutted on the forehead pad on the basis of the detected result of the detection means.
