PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical wire with an in-vivo indwelling member, obtaining sufficient swelling state by the short-time swelling process, capable of securely cutting a connection member by the current feeding operation for cutting while maintaining the sufficient strength not to be easily cut by the operation, and therefore, securely detaching the in-vivo indwelling member on the whole in a short period of time.SOLUTION: The medical wire is composed of a wire body and the in-vivo indwelling member connected to the distal end of the wire body via the connection member made of a material with water-swelling properties. The connection member is heated and cut by the feeding of the electric current for cutting, by which the in-vivo indwelling member is detached. The medical wire with the in-vivo indwelling member is characterized by the detachability of the in-vivo indwelling member.
