PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiseptic disinfectant improving antibacterial power originally possessed by 1,2-alkanediol, a cosmetic, medicine or food compounded with the antiseptic disinfectant, and a cosmetic, medicine or food.
SOLUTION: The antiseptic disinfectant contains a 5-10C 1,2-alkanediol, preferably 1,2-hexanediol and/or 1,2-octanediol and extract of Artemisia capillaris Thunb. The invention further provides cosmetics, medicines and foods compounded with the antiseptic disinfectant. A crude drug "Inchinkou" can be used as the extract of Artemisia capillaris.
