Novel uses of an aromatic ester isolated from Armillaria mellea, particularly, armillaridin, are disclosed herein. The armillaridin is useful for manufacturing a medicament or a pharmaceutical composition for suppressing the growth of cancerous cells or for enhancing susceptibility of esophageal cancerous cells to a radiation treatment, in a subject.在此揭示一種自蜜環菌(Armillaria mellea)分離出的一芳香性酯類化合物之新穎用途,特別是密環菌乙素(armillaridin)。所述蜜環菌乙素可用來製造能於一種可於活體內抑制癌細胞生長或者是增強食道癌細胞接受放射線處理之感受性的醫藥品或是藥學組合物。
