The invention relates to a cooling system for inducing diving reflex and protecting the central nervous system. The cooling system includes a coolant supply unit, a flow path control unit, a body temperature keeping device, a controller and an injection unit. The flow path control unit is connected with the coolant supply unit. The body temperature keeping device is connected with the coolant supply unit through the flow path control unit and has a head cooling bag. The controller is configured to regulate the flow path control unit and the injection unit according to received physiological signals including cerebral oxygen concentration and nasopharyngeal temperature. The injection unit is connected with the controller and the catheter. When in use, the coolant is drawn to the head cooling bag covering the patients face to induce the diving reflex. At the same time, the coolant is also injected to the stomach through the oesophagus by the injection unit to reduce the stomach temperature.
