PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device used for a packaging container by which food is transported that irradiates food being transported with light of a specific wavelength region so as to enhance quality of the food.SOLUTION: An illumination device 1 used for a packaging container by which food is transported includes: a light emitter 2 for irradiating food with light a supply source for supplying electric power to the light emitter 2 and causing it to emit light an insulating body 4 for insulating the light emitter 2 from the supply source and a pressing member 5 for pressing the light emitter 2 and the supply source mutually through the insulating body 4 by being thermally shrunk.
