PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of imaging an object with a high accuracy while downsizing and thinning the apparatus and reducing deterioration of resolution caused by a curved field.
SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 100 of the present invention is equipped with a placing table 30 to place a finger 2000 as an object to be imaged, a lens 11, and an image pick-up device 21 arranged at the position of an image formation of the lens 11 so that the imaging surface 21a is approximately vertical to the light axis Ca-Ca of the lens 11, and it has a constitution so that the finger 2000 placed on the placing table 21a is imaged on the imaging surface 21a of the image pick-up device 21. The angle &theta with the placing table 21a and the light axis Ca-Ca of the lens 11 is set less than 90°.
