PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light shielding agent for agriculture that: allows, by being sprayed on an external surface of sheet material, the external surface to be a light shielding surface in which a light shielding structure where unevenness is suppressed is formed thereon； and can form the light shielding structure prevented from being flowed down due to such as rainfall.SOLUTION: The light shielding agent for agriculture comprises water, an aqueous binder and pigment, wherein the aqueous binder is an aqueous resin emulsion having an acid value of 30-300, the pigment contains titanium oxide having an average particle diameter of 0.1-0.5 &mu；m and calcium carbonate, and a compounding ratio of the titanium oxide to the calcium carbonate is 1/10-5 in weight ratio.【課題】 シート材の外表面に散布されることでその外表面をむらの抑制された遮光性構造が形成された遮光面となすことを可能とするとともに、降雨などによって流れ落ちる虞の抑制された遮光性構造を形成可能な農業用遮光剤を提供する。【解決手段】水と水系バインダーと顔料とを含有してなる農業用遮光剤であり、水系バインダーは、酸価が３０以上３００以下の水性樹脂エマルジョンであり、顔料は、平均粒子径が０．１μｍ以上０．５μｍ以下の酸化チタンと、炭酸カルシウムとを含むとともに、炭酸カルシウムに対する酸化チタンの配合比率が重量比率で１／１０以上５以下となるように構成される。【選択図】 なし
