PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chum container, making the pierced chum easily reach the bottom of the sea, and also maintaining the environment of the bottom of the sea.SOLUTION: A chum container body 10 is formed substantially like a cup, the top is opened, and a penetration hole 13 vertically penetrating is bored at the bottom of the lower part. A substantially V-shaped slit 14 expanded as it goes toward the upper side is cut out on both sides of the chum container body 10. A fishhook 6 to which a piercing bait 7 is attached is stored in the chum container body 10, and a float ball 5 fitted to a leader 4 is removably temporarily locked on the slits 14. After that, the chum 8 is filled in the chum container body 10, and the chum container body 10 is dropped in the sea through the leader 4. In the course of dropping, the chum 8 is scattered, and when the chum container body 10 reaches the bottom of the sea, a fishing rod 1 is raised to detach the float ball 5 from the slits 14.
