A multi-chamber IV bag having two or more chambers for securely holding in a substantially unspoiled manner the same and/or different solutions. The chambers of the multi-layer IV bag are, at least in part, defined by frangible seals that are subjected to breaking allowing the solutions of each of the chambers to become mixed and administered to a patient. The manufacture of such a multi-chamber IV bag generally includes the steps of bringing two webs together along a vertically-oriented manufacturing line for the multi-chamber IV bag inserting a port between the two webs at a first edge of the manufacturing line sealing the two webs at the port providing end seals at or near the first edge and diametrically opposed second edge of the two webs forming one or more frangible seals between the end seals introducing liquid between the two partially-sealed webs via two or more filling tubes that straddle the one or more frangible seals and adding side seals and bag separation cuts at a second end of the manufacturing line.
