The present invention relates to a composition containing a burdock root extract as an active ingredient for preventing or treating diabetic complications. Plus spécifiquement, il a été confirmé quun extrait de racine de bardane a pour effet dinhiber la production de produits finaux de glycation avancée (AGE), comme démontré dans le cadre dune réaction de glycation non enzymatique par le sucre dans le sang, si bien quune composition contenant lextrait de racine de bardane en tant que principe actif peut être utilisée sous la forme dune composition pharmaceutique ou dun aliment santé pour prévenir et traiter les complications du diabète provoquées par des produits finaux de glycation avancée (AGE).본 발명은 우엉 뿌리 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 당뇨합병증 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 우엉 뿌리 추출물은 혈액 내 당에 의한 비효소적 당화 반응에서 나타나는 최종당화산물(AGEs)의 생성을 억제하는 효과를 나타내는 것을 확인함에 따라, 상기 우엉 뿌리 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 조성물을 최종당화산물(AGEs)에 의한 당뇨합병증을 예방 및 치료하기 위한 약학조성물 또는 건강식품으로 제공될 수 있다.
