PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which can simply detect a system error.SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprises a reception unit 8 that performs predetermined signal processing for a noise signal for each reception channel, a data generation unit 9 that generates numerical data based on the noise signal for which the predetermined signal processing is performed by the reception unit 8, and an error determination unit 10 that determines abnormality in the reception channel on the basis of the numerical data generated by the data generation unit 9.
