PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which supports the selection of a channel.SOLUTION: An MRI apparatus 100 collects NMR signal data received by each of two or more element coils by a channel unit assigned to the element coils when taking a positioning image and stores it in a memory part 14. Then, the MRI apparatus 100 refers to the memory part 14 about the channel chosen when taking a positioning image, reconstructs an image from the NMR signal data memorized in the memory part 14, and displays the reconstructed image. Moreover, the MRI apparatus 100 accepts the change of channel selection.
