PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated apparatus for sterilizing seeds with hot water without needing human labor.SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for sterilizing seeds with hot water works as follows: raw material seed rice (seeds) G is fed to a plurality of sterilizing vessels 10 and then successively and automatically immersed in an immersing sections 2 (a hot bath tank 4 and a chill bath tank 5) by a conveying means 3 to effect hot water sterilization of the seed rice (seeds), and the sterilized seed rice (seeds) is discharged. Thereby, there is no need of human labor, and the number of relevant operators can be reduced, leading to reducing work labor as well. Furthermore, thanks to the action of a seed discharge section 26, the sterilized seed rice in the sterilizing vessels 10 can be discharged completely, thus preventing the raw material seed rice to be fed next from being mixed with residual seed rice.
