PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paddy rice cultivation method and a fertilizer for paddy rice to improve yield and taste of the rice.SOLUTION: The paddy rice cultivation method of the invention is characterized in that at least part of the paddy rice is brought in contact with an aqueous solution of potassium silicate, for instance, at least part of the paddy rice may be immersed in an aqueous solution containing potassium silicate. According to the paddy rice cultivation method, for example, the water level of the paddy field is lowered and then an aqueous solution containing potassium silicate may be fed to the paddy field.
