A medicament delivery device (1) comprises a housing (15), a holder (7) within the housing for receiving a medicament cartridge (9), a piston rod (25, 27) for driving a bung (20) of the medicament cartridge, a drive mechanism including a motor for providing an output drive to the piston rod for delivering the medicament and control means for controlling operation of the device. The device is additionally provided with a bung sensor (31) for sensing when the piston rod (25, 27) is in contact with the bung (20) and the control means is operative for advancing the drive of the piston rod towards the bung.Linvention concerne un dispositif dadministration de médicament (1) comprenant un boîtier (15), un support (7) situé à lintérieur du boîtier pour recevoir une cartouche de médicament (9), une tige de piston (25, 27) pour entraîner une bonde (20) de la cartouche de médicament, un mécanisme dentraînement comprenant un moteur pour produire un entraînement de sortie sur la tige de piston afin dadministrer le médicament et un moyen de commande pour commander le fonctionnement du dispositif.
