PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper which is excellent in fitting and cushion properties, is easy to manufacture, also has a gather part with high flexibility of an elastic stretchable member itself, and has an excellent wearing feeling even when the expansion ratio of the gather part is increased in order to improve the fitting to the body of a wearer.SOLUTION: There is disclosed the disposable diaper having the gather part 10 in which the elastic stretchable member 3 is disposed between a first sheet part 1 and a second sheet part 2. The elastic stretchable member 3 has a plurality of openings 31 formed along the longitudinal direction of the elastic stretchable member in an expanded state, and the openings 31 become narrow in a contracted state compared to the case that the elastic stretchable member 3 is in the expanded state.
