The present invention relates to a method for isolating a transport-enhancing mutant of a drug delivery protein. In one embodiment, the invention provides a carrier for delivering a therapeutic agent to a cell organs, said carrier comprising a polypeptide encoded by a mutant Fenton's base gene.
