Disclosed is a plant cell, plant callus, plant, seed or other plant part including an angiogenin gene or a functionally active fragment or variant thereof and/or an angiogenin polypeptide. Also disclosed is a plant-produced angiogenin. Further disclosed is a method of producing a transformed plant cell expressing an angiogenin gene, said method comprising: - providing a gene encoding angiogenin or a functionally active fragment or variant thereof, and a plant cell； - introducing the angiogenin gene into the plant cell to produce a transformed plant cell； and - culturing the transformed plant cell to produce a transformed plant cell expressing the angiogenin gene.
