In a lawn-cutting appliance having tines (3) arranged in a rake-like manner and exchangeable cutting blades (4), clogging caused by dense pieces of lawn and grass grown relatively tall are avoided, during operation, in that the tines (3) are equipped with cutting blades (4) and extend at an angle obliquely to the drawing direction (A), the tines (3) being provided with edge strips (9) which are inclined downwards at a specific angle to the plane of the tines and which extend approximately as far as the tip (6) of the tines (3). Advantages of the solution according to the invention are that the individual grasses, when they run into the interspace between adjacent tines, are set obliquely and, in a position oblique relative to the ground, are positively guided along the cutting blades and cut cleanly. <IMAGE>
