PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hedge trimmer trimming branches and leaves off trees near a construction. SOLUTION: The hedge trimmer has the following structure: a movable blade 5 is provided with a wide end cutting blade 5c at its head part, a tip part 5d projecting forward further than general cutting blades 5b, and a cutting blade part 5e at its side face; a lower-side stationary board 13 is provided with a branch/leaf guidance plate 13b projecting forward further than the general cutting blades 4b, 5b and the end cutting blade 5c at its head part; and the branch/leaf guidance plate 13b has an oblique cutout part 13c. The branches and leaves are moved to the hand side along the oblique plane of the oblique cutout part 13c, housed between the cutting blade part 5e and the cutting blade 4b, and cut. The end cutting blade 5c can be prevented from operation stop caused by insertion even when the movable blades 4, 5 move to the limit because the end cutting blade 5c is overlapped on the branch/leaf guidance plate 13b.
