A combination comprising a first agent to inhibit the aberrant activity of the Stat3 pathway and a second agent for use in the treatment of a subject with a cancer that is associated with the aberrant activity of the Stat3 pathway, in which the First agent is selected from the group consisting of 2- (1-hydroxyethyl) -naphtho [2,3-b] furan-4,9-dione, 2-acetyl-7-chloro-naphtho [2,3-b] furan -4,9-dione, 2-acetyl-7-fluoro-naphtho [2,3-b] furan-4,9-dione, 2-acetylnaphto [2,3-b] furan-4,9-dione, 2 -ethyl-naphtho [2,3-b] furan-4,9-dione and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof； and the second agent is selected from the group consisting of paclitaxel, erlotinib, sunitinib, lapatinib, sorafenib, carboplatin, doxorubicin, docetaxel, gemcitabine and etoposide.Una combinación que comprende un primer agente para inhibir la actividad aberrante de la ruta de Stat3 y un segundo agente para su uso en el tratamiento de un sujeto con un cáncer que está asociado con la actividad aberrante de la ruta de Stat3, en el que el primer agente se selecciona del grupo que consiste en 2-(1-hidroxietil)- nafto[2,3-b]furan-4,9-diona, 2-acetil-7-cloro-nafto[2,3-b]furan-4,9-diona, 2-acetil-7-fluoro-nafto[2,3-b]furan-4,9-diona, 2-acetilnafto[2,3-b]furan-4,9-diona, 2-etil-nafto[2,3-b]furan-4,9-diona y una sal o solvato farmacéuticamente aceptable de éste； y el segundo agente se selecciona del grupo que consiste en paclitaxel, erlotinib, sunitinib, lapatinib, sorafenib, carboplatino, doxorrubicina, docetaxel, gemcitabina y etopósido.
