Bacillus Cereus is a gram positive bacteria and member of the genus Bacillus mainly found in soil and food. Infection of Bacillus Cereus can spread by eating contaminated food and food is contaminated by bacteria such as Salmonella or Escherichia coli or a virus, such as the norovirus and does not spread from person to person. These bacteria cause self-limiting food-poisoning syndrome, fried- rice syndrome, treatable diseases such as diarrhea, lower respiratory infections, fever and vomiting. Pathogenic strains of Bacillus Cereus promote infection by producing two type of toxins: emetic toxin and diarrhoeal toxin -causing two type of illness. The emetic syndrome is caused by emetic toxin produced by the bacteria during the growth phase in the food. The diarrhoeal syndrome is caused by diarrhoeal toxins produced during growth of the bacteria in the small intestine. The riboswitches are found in 5UTR where mutations are very rare. Proteins, which are nonhomologous have been widely used as drug target for host parasite disease like sinusitis. Antibiotics that are used for the treatment of infectious disease have suffered a major setback due to the development of drug resistance by the pathogenic target organism and produce various side effects. Therefore, in the current experiment the riboswitches of Bacillus cereus bacteria is explored as an alternative potential drug target for Bacillus cereus infectious to address the current issues of associated side effects and drug resistance of existing antibiotic drugs etc. Its structure has been predicted to obtain the optimal lead molecule namely ((9S)-4,16-dimethoxy-10-methyl
