PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving unit, optical unit, imaging device and endoscope that can perform an advance/retreat drive of a movable unit with respect to a stationary unit using a voice coil motor, allow a simple structure to generate urging force, and are downsized and light-weighted.SOLUTION: A driving unit comprises: a cylindrical stationary unit 2 that has a prescribed axis centered； a cylindrical movable unit 3 in which an axis arranged at an inner side of the stationary unit 2 is centered； a front frame unit 4 that is attached to one end side of the stationary unit 2, and includes at least a magnetic material； and a voice coil motor 10 that allows a coil 11 arranged in the stationary unit 2 and a magnet 12 arranged in the movable unit 3 to relatively move the movable unit 3 in an axial direction with respect to the stationary unit 2.
