PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper the inner elastic member of which is hardly visualized from the outer layer sheet.
SOLUTION: The disposable diaper is provided with an absorbent main body 3, and an outer package material 2. The outer package material 2 is formed of the outer layer sheet 21, an inner layer sheet 22, and the elastic members 23-26. Waist region gather and waist gather, formed of a composite expansible part, are provided in a waist region D and a waist part F. The composite expansible part is the part where the sheets 21, 22 are mutually joined by intermittent joint parts in the expansible direction of the composite expansible part and in a direction orthogonal to the expansible direction, the elastic members 23, 24 are arranged not to pass the joint parts and also are not fixed to the sheets 21, 22, a plurality of folds continuously extending over the plurality of elastic members 23, 24 are formed in the sheets 21, 22. The plurality of folds are continuously arranged in a direction to be orthogonally crossed with the expansible direction of the composite expansible part concerning the composite expansible part which is adjacent in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent body 3. Thus, the expansible direction of the composite expansible part is substantially matched with the orientation direction of component fiber in the outer layer sheet 21.
