The setting means sets, to volume data, a first clipping plane and a second clipping plane, and sets, to the volume data, a first visual line direction and a second visual line direction that is the opposite direction of the first visual line direction. The first image forming means forms a first medical image that is viewed from the first clipping plane towards the first visual line direction, based on the volume data. The second image forming means forms a second medial data that is viewed from the second clipping plane towards the second visual line direction, based on the volume data. The display control means controls the display means to display the first medical image and the second medical image juxtaposed to each other.
