PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilization method which is designed to reduce the density of a residual sterilization gas in a very short time as compared with a conventional aeration process.
SOLUTION: The sterilization method enables the removal of the sterilization gas from the surface of an object 13 to be sterilized in a very short time as the result of extraction of the sterilization gas in a liquid carbon dioxide, namely a liquefied carbon dioxide by performing the sterilization process to sterilize the object 13 to be sterilized by making the sterilized object 13 exist in the sterilization gas having a prescribed or higher density, and the sterilization gas removal process to remove the sterilization gas from the surface of the sterilized object 13 by making the sterilized object 13 after the sterilization process exist in the liquid carbon dioxide.
