PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope provided with high sealability while reducing manufacturing costs, the endoscope also achieving a reduced diameter thereof .SOLUTION: In an endoscope that comprises a camera unit 3 provided at a leading end of an insertion unit to be inserted into an observation object, the camera unit comprises: an imaging unit 4 that has an imaging element optical elements 34 to 38 that form an optical image on an imaging surface of the imaging element a lens barrel 5 that holds the optical elements a cover member 6 that covers a front side of the optical elements and a cylindrical frame member 21 that stores the lens barrel inside and holds the cover member and the imaging unit at the front and back thereof. The cover member is fitted in an open section 51 on a front side of the cylindrical frame member and is fixed to the cylindrical frame member while being sealed with an adhesive.
