PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for cultivating a Japanese yam which has a high degree of freedom in selection of the installation place of the cultivation apparatus, can estimate the degree of expansion of an emergent yam, greatly reduces the labor necessary for planting and harvesting, and dispenses with a Japanese yam extracting device for harvesting.SOLUTION: In an apparatus for cultivating a Japanese yam, a container 25 having an opening part 28 in a bottom wall 27 is arranged on a frame 2. The apparatus also includes an emergent yam growing material 15 having: a pipe 16 which has a slit 17 along the total length in the long direction and of which the upper end is opened and the lower end is closed with a cap 18 a soil 41 packed in the pipe 16 and a covering member 20 closing the slit 17. The upper end of the pipe 16 is inserted into the opening part 28 leaving a certain narrow gap, and the lower end is placed on a supporting board 8 of the frame 2. A net cylinder 38 is installed upright on the upper end of the pipe 16, a soil region 42 connected to the soil 41 is arranged inside, a cultivation soil region 43 is arranged adjacent to the region, a germination point of a seed yam 45 is placed in the soil region 42, and a main absorptive root 47 is placed in the cultivation soil region 43 for growing an emergent yam 46 in the emergent yam growing material 15.【課題】 栽培装置の設置場所選択の自由度が高く、新生芋の肥大の程度を推定できて、植え付け・収穫に要する労力を極めて軽減でき、収穫用の自然薯抜取装置を要しない、自然薯の栽培装置を提案する。【解決手段】 底壁27に開口部28を有するコンテナ25を架台2上に設置する。長手方向全長に亘るスリット17を有し上端が開放され下端をキャップ18で閉鎖したパイプ16、その内部に詰めた用土41、スリット17を塞ぐ覆い部材20を有する新生芋育成体15を備え、パイプ16の上端部は一定の狭い隙間を以って開口部28へ挿入し下端部は架台2の支持板8に載置する。パイプ16の上端部に網筒38を立設して内部に用土41と連接した用土領域42を設け、隣接して栽培土領域43を設けて、用土領域42に種芋45の発芽点を、栽培土領域43に主吸収根47を配置して新生芋育成体15内に新生芋46を育成する。【選択図】 図2
