Since the present invention confirms an effect of a Vigna angularis extract or Vigna angularis-derived peptide on damaged muscle cells, the Vigna angularis extract or Vigna angularis-derived peptide promotes the activation of muscle satellite cells in injured muscles, thereby being able to be usefully used as: a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating muscle damage； a food composition and a cosmetic composition for preventing or alleviating muscle damage； and the pharmaceutical composition, a food composition, and the cosmetic composition for accelerating regeneration of injured muscle.본 발명은 팥 추출물 또는 팥 유래 펩타이드가 손상된 근육 세포에 미치는 영향을 확인한 것으로, 상기 팥 추출물 또는 팥 유래 펩타이드는 투여 시 손상된 근육에서 근육 위성세포의 활성화를 촉진시켰으므로 근육 손상 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물, 예방 또는 개선용 식품 조성물, 화장료 조성물과 손상 근육의 재생 촉진용 약학적 조성물, 식품 조성물 또는 화장료 조성물로 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.
