The suture anchor includes a one piece blank that is folded to form a body. The body has a bottom, a first sidewall extending from one end of the bottom, and a second sidewall extending from the opposite end of the bottom. The recess is defined by the bottom, the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The crossbar extends inwardly from the second sidewall across the recess such that the free end of the crossbar is disposed distal of the transverse edge of the body in the normal state. The crossbar is flexible so that when a distally directed force is applied, the free end of the crossbar is positionable in the recess.
