Packaging systems and methods are disclosed for storing biological devices including biological tissues and for maintaining a target relative humidity over a temperature range. The packaging system includes a sealed package that forms an interior space having an interior volume, and a humidity control device and a biological device within the interior space. The humidity control device includes a barrier forming a confined space, and a humidity controlled solution comprising glycerol in the enclosed space. At least a portion of the barrier comprises a gas-permeable membrane.
