The present invention relates to a novel grass species Gin gi whose plant length is 1-3 cm, sheath leaf length is 0.5-1.2 cm, green royal horticultural society (RHS) 134A with dark sheath leaf color, lamina length is 1-3 cm, green royal horticultural society (RHS) 141A with dark sheath leaf color, and root cultured in a underground stoloniferous stem length is 30-50 cm. In the Gin gi, there are no hair in sheath leaf and lamina, and maintenance of green color is continued until early December. The Gin gi has a high moisture resistance, so it can be actively reproduced without lesion despite irrigation work at twice per one day for the summer season. The type of main reproduction is vegetative propagation through ground or underground stoloniferous stem, and also the Gin gi can be reproduced by germination of seed. Greenness of Gin gi leaf is high and the height of the Gin gi is low, so there is no need to cut the grass and formation of mat is good. Thus, the Gin gi can be usefully applied in regions requiring sheath or forestation such as development sites, parks, stadiums or golf courses. Moreover, the Gin gi can be usefully applied in grass development industry for overseas export of excellent Korean grass species.본 발명은 식물체의 길이가 1~3 cm, 엽초 길이가 0.5~1.2 cm, 엽초 색이 진한 녹색 RHS(Royal Horticultural Society) 134A, 엽신 길이가 1~3 cm, 엽신 색이 진한 녹색 RHS(Royal Horticultural Society) 141A 및 지하포복경에서 자라는 뿌리의 길이가 30~50 cm인 특징을 가지며, 엽초와 엽신에 털이 없고, 녹색 유지기간이 12월초까지 유지되고, 내습성이 강하여 하절기 일 2회 관수작업에도 병변현상 없이 번식이 왕성하게 진행되고, 주요 번식 형태는 지상포복경 또는 지하경으로 영양번식이며, 또한 씨앗의 발아에 의해서도 번식하는 잔디 신품종 진지(Gin gi)에 관한 것으로, 잎의 녹색도가 높고 낮게 자라는 특성이 있어서 잔디깎기가 필요 없고 매트 형성이 우수하여 개발지, 공원, 경기장 또는 골프장과 같은 피복 또는 녹화를 필요로 하는 지역에 유용하게 사용할 수 있으며, 나아가 우수한 한국 잔디품종의 해외 수출을 위한 잔디 육성 산업에도 유용하게 사용될 수 있는 효과가 있다.
