A wind lift mitigation net for mitigating or preventing wind lift of at least one membrane covering an outdoor aggregation of matter, comprises a plurality of threads formed from monofilaments wherein at least some of the monofilaments have a cross-sectional shape that comprises at least one vertex or a planar surface. The cross-sectional shape may be a non-circular shape such as a tear drop, triangular, square or stellate shaped thread. The net may be woven or knitted and manufactured from a plastics material. In use a plastic membrane is placed over the agricultural aggregate, e.g. feed or forage, or things like landfill, salt or mineral aggregates and then the netting is placed over the top and weighed down. The netting can prevent the membrane from being lifted by the wind.
