A feminine care absorbent article comprises an absorbent structure 321 that is configured for disposition adjacent a female wearer's vaginal region to absorb bodily discharged fluids. A shell 314 supports the absorbent structure 321 at the vaginal region and has an adhesive 344 on its body-facing surface for adhering the shell 314 directly to the wearer's body. The adhesive 344 has a pattern, such as dots of adhesive. The body facing surface has a visual cue associated with the adhesive 344 for conveying the presence of the adhesive to the wearer. The cue may comprise a coloured adhesive or dots of adhesive having different sizes. Other disclosed absorbent articles comprise: a body facing adhesive with a non-uniform adhesive pattern； a body facing surface with at least a portion that is adhesive free； adhesive applied to first and second areas of the body facing surface to provide first and second adhesive strengths； and a body facing surface with a first region having a first adhesive formulation and a second region having a second, different adhesive formulation.
