PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head for holding a nail for bone implant applications which allows temporarily holding a nail in a pre-determined position, until the nail is inserted into a gingival bone tissue of a patient with a single performance of the dentists hand.SOLUTION: A head 10 for holding a nail 100 comprises: a positioning body 20 having a first cavity 21 suitable for reversibly holding a nail and a second cavity 22 opposite to and in communication with the first cavity 21, wherein the first cavity and the second cavity are open outwardly and an abutment element 30 configured for interacting with the nail so as to bring it from a wait position to a working position thereof. The positioning body is suitable for holding the nail within the first cavity in the wait position of the nail.
