PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, regarding removal of carbon monoxide (CO) from air, there have heretofore been known only cryogenic separation and adsorption separation, and there has been no method for removing carbon monoxide, which has good cost performance, does not need any particular porous material, can be carried out with small energy, and can be performed in offices and households.SOLUTION: The method for removing carbon monoxide comprises: forming a hydrate having carbon monoxide incorporated in a framework of water by freezing and collecting carbon monoxide (CO) floating in air together with water vapor coexisting in the air concurrently on a surface of a cold panel at a temperature (pseudo-low temperature) higher than the freezing temperature of carbon monoxide; and, by heating the cold panel, pressure of CO incorporated in the framework of water is increased to a pseudo-high pressure for CO to be decomposed into C and O, which are then released into the air.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
