PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel modified polysiloxane excellent in operability because it is lower in viscosity compared with current polyoxyalkylene-modified polysiloxane and polyglycerol-modified polysiloxane, environmentally highly adaptable because it is hardly oxidized in air and hardly producing with time aldehydes such as formaldehyde and allergic antigenic compounds such as formic acid ester during storage, and stable because it is lower in hydrolyzability compared with current polyglycerol-modified polysiloxane, a method of manufacturing the same, and cosmetics containing the polysiloxane.SOLUTION: In this polysiloxane, an end hydroxy group of polyglycerol-modified polysiloxane is partially blocked by a hydrocarbon group.
