PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mouthpiece capable of reducing discomfort felt by a subject.SOLUTION: A mouthpiece 1 includes a cylindrical part 3 to be inserted into an oral cavity B of a subject, and a guide 8 projecting from an esophagus side end of the cylindrical part 3, the guide 8 being configured to bend an endoscope 2 inserted into an inner peripheral side toward a palate E in the oral cavity B and thereby to guide the endoscope 2 into an esophagus C so as to bypass a tongue root H.
