PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication device which performs stable extraction of a region of interest.SOLUTION: A biometric authentication device which performs biometric authentication by detecting biological information from a biological photographic image comprises a palm region extraction section 54 which extracts a region of interest from a biological image on the basis of the biological photographic image.
