PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument having a micro electrode and a micro light source to be inserted into a tissue, in particular an instrument that can be flexibly adapted to a movement in the surrounding tissue, the instrument being capable of stimulating, once inserted into a soft tissue, a single nerve cell and a nerve cell group.SOLUTION: An instrument to be installed in a soft tissue includes: a micro electrode 1402 a micro light source 1409 a strengthening element 1403 having a material that is dissoluble or resolvable in aqueous body fluid or a material that is swellable in aqueous body fluid a coating on the strengthening element that is made of a flexible and non-conductive polymer material and a base positioned at a distal end of the instrument. The flexible coating has a distal opening which leads the light emitted from the light source by collapsing, dissolving, or swelling to the outside of the instrument.
